To compare Palin to Dirk Nowitzki in terms of excellence in one's field is quite an insult to Dirk.

I don't think Howard could cover David Robinson or Hakeem. He could probably manhandle Ewing and Mutombo he could out-wit, but two of those centers at least (Admiral and Dream) had him hands down. Shaq also, as you said, could be stopped by no one. So that is 3. Being the 4th best center in the league is quite a bit different than being far-and-away the best. Moreover, against more quality competition, Howard would be tested more and would be less fresh on offense. That would negatively impact his already less-impressive offensive numbers. I'm a huge Howard fan, as you will notice he is in my favorite players ever on both my Bleacher Report and NBA-Draft-Experts profiles, but he is playing in a soft time and would have found himself only the 4th best center in the league if he played from 1989 to 1996. I'm not even sure Dwight Howard would be worlds better than Zo - in his prime.

I think Rubio will help a lot more than you may think. He's got a good understanding of the game of basketball and might be able to run a team as a rookie in ways we're not accustomed to seeing.

Until the ownership in Minnesota realizes how the game of basketball works and what kind of group of players wins games, the Wolves will be mediocre.

A team can't have five point guards or five shooting forwards and lack depth at other positions and be successful.

Love is turning into a great player...build around him, quit doubling or tripling the roster with the same type of player and they might be able to do something.

I would be pretty disgusted with our country if we had enough idiots vote that either Palin or Bachmann got in. Mitt Romney is decent, but please for the love of god I hope Obama gets re-elected.

It's always hard to say a team would be better without an all-star caliber player, but we also know that chemistry is a fickle and passing thing, and is best to be capitlized upon when a team begins to gel. Why impede progress with greed? Gay could make them take the next step, or they may regress; there is no guarantee. What is guaranteed is that he will be back in the starting lineup. He is on a max contract. It remains to be seen whether that contract will have been worth it or not...

Glad you agree with me for the most part. I don't think Palin had a chance either, but most people didn't think the Dallas Mavericks had a chance against the Miami Heat. No one knows what could happen.
